Information about The Landings

The Woodruff Company purchased Simons Plaza, The Terraces and Airport Thruway Shopping center in 2004. The Woodruff Company saw the area as a light in our community. The Woodruff Company has a history of taking a great location and turning it into a viable asset for our community. The 3 centers are geographically in the center of Columbus, Georgia. The shopping area is easy to access from all areas in Columbus. It is visible from I-185. Most people in Columbus have to drive past this center to get to Bradley Park or Columbus Park Crossing, other shopping areas in North Columbus.

Since purchasing, The Woodruff Company has renamed all 3 centers The Landings on Airport Thruway (approx. 300,000 sq. ft. of retail), has completed 5 out parcels and has plans to expand. To date the company has spent over $7M on the renovation.

CMH architects out of Birmingham was hired to create an avenue effect. They designed the Avenues in Atlanta, the Summit in Birmingham and East Chase in Montgomery.

The Landings is a wonderful mix of national retailers, local merchants, and specialty restaurants. The pedestrian, family friendly shopping center is a FUN place to shop. Many of the tenants who have moved to The Landings have had sales exceed their goals. We recommend you contact any of the tenants to get feedback from them. Petland, a national pet store chain, had the best opening in the history of the company. Several new tenants have already expanded.

The Landings won 2 awards for landscaping and been voted Columbus’ best shopping center for 3 consecutive years.

We intend for this to be the nicest shopping area in Columbus, Georgia. When people think of great shopping experience, we want them to think of The Landings.
